Microelectronics Science and Engineering is the branch of Electronics that studies the miniaturized circuits and systems on solid (mainly semiconductor) materials. It aims to realize the systematization and integration of circuits with strong practicability. With the rapid development of this discipline and its integration with other disciplines, a series of interdisciplines has sprouted, such as micro-electromechanical systems, optoelectronic technology, biochips and so on. The future development of this discipline will focus on the higher integration with lower power consumption, better performance with higher reliability to realize the aim of ultra-high capacity with ultra-small size, ultra-high frequency with ultra-low power consumption in information processing. Founded in 2007, this major has now been authorized to set up posts for Chutian scholars. It offers doctoral program of the second level discipline of Nano-materials and Devices, and master program of first level discipline of Electronic Science and Technology.
